The bonded energy between Mutual Benefit and Holy Spirits that swirled up the west coast a few months back has now blossomed into new form: a split 12″ on Father/Daughter Records appropriately titled Mutual Spirits, and a show in its honor. S&S is truly stoked to be hosting this night with Popgun at their trademark haven, Glasslands, on June 8th. And not to be missed, Brooklyn’s Moon and Baltimore’s Lands and Peoples will be adding sets of their own. More details and RSVP at FB.

A fusion of vibes with stellar blog friend Neon Musical Insight has resulted in one very full night of music at Brooklyn’s Cameo Gallery on Friday, January 21st. We are excited. Details to follow at the FB event. And more on these bands we love as the days get closer.

These are the 15 albums I lived in. Each was distinct and at times, in a somewhat new dynamic this year, a breather from the daily gem mining that leads to much of our content. This is an LPs only list, and a “personal favorites” one at that (not to be confused with what is “best”). S&S generally celebrates the future seen in a track or EP (and loves doing it), but here is that annual chance to presently appreciate those who transported me using the sacred art of the album.

FREEwilly and S&S have joined forces to bring you a special night of communal vibes at Glasslands Gallery on Wednesday, October 20th.
