ETHEREA | In Church

ETHEREA, as we may remember, was Alec Koone’s project before Balam Acab, and earlier this week he decided to share one last glimmering remnant from it.

Alone, in the most content sense of the word. It’s almost Saturday. The rink is empty, which in this case just means there’s more room to spin:

LA’s Fantasy Island have kept a steady (and increasingly watched) cloud since that first avenue trip (and also confirmed that they are in fact, related to Therapies Son).

Stay with that chorus long enough and out from behind the glass hums “Monica”—subtle, but she’s there, as Marshall Trotter (formerly Aux Arc) recently cleared up for us:

“The song ‘Mono Y Mono’ was originally titled ‘Monica Y Mono.’ I recorded it as a gift to a beautiful girl one Christmas. She is an amazing dancer. I tend to not mention peoples actual names in songs or call songs after people. With this one I started to and then got self conscious. It doesn’t really matter anymore. It’s one of my favorites.”
