Four worlds expand over separate easels and outwards, selectively intertwined by the unknown—this constant, revolving sense of consideration.

A manor constructed over a reservoir, its residents accept life at an aqueous tilt. Two tribes peel Mount Victoria from the water’s edge, its range perpetually snow-capped, sapphire blues overlap. Badlands collapse into boreal forest and back again; horses gallop above the timberline; a man repels through time, reading the eons, meter by meter.

Eyes between canvas and cliff, she watches him, wondering what other accents of hers might appear and which may fade. Like the seasons, but more sporadic, she thought, like emotions.

Cemeteries is Kyle J. Reigle, whose debut album was one of our favorites of 2012. Foxes in Fiction is Warren Hildebrand, whose debut album was one of our favorites of 2010. Kyle has a release due out later this month under the side project Camp Counselors on his own Snowbeast Records. Warren has a release in the works as well as a showcase in Brooklyn this Saturday for his own Orchid Tapes. Busy, beautiful people.

A big thank you to all the musicians, FREEwilliamsburg friends/co-hosts, Glasslands staff, and everyone who shared in the spirits on Wednesday. This night was a dream come true.

Here’s what it looked like (we’ll let others do the words). Note: Victoria arrived just after two excellent sets from Kohwi and Zambri and there’s a mysterious lack of shots from Pujol‘s electric showing (they played during open bar), so we’re hoping FREEwilly has some earlier ones in their forthcoming batch.

FREEwilly and S&S have joined forces to bring you a special night of communal vibes at Glasslands Gallery on Wednesday, October 20th.

We start celebrating this music at 6pm. And we won’t stop till 4am (with the DJ help of Awesome Tapes From Africa‘s Brian S).

More details to follow on the FB page.  Hope to see you there!

The first compilation (or optical and meteorological phenomenon) appeared after a ‘stress storm’, and this case is no different, albeit less random. The tracks themselves have accumulated over the past few weeks like shimmering specs of gold in the rapids of our blogosphere. Some picked up along the way from friends, and others generously straight from the source. And it’s with my utmost excitement that RANDOM RAINBOW can debut a new track from Teen Daze, which he tells us was recorded the rainy morning following our chat. The thought of him doing that has me completely glowing. Alongside “Hard Times/Good Times” (that’s a lone mp3 for you gold rushers) are fellow red hot Canadian dreamers Blue Hawaii, Kumon Plaza, Foxes in Fiction, NEON CANYON, and Lester Brown (in a collaboration with MICKEY MICKEY ROURKE). And the equally prismed rest are from all over: Barcelona, Belgium, and of course Dom’s sexy America.
